Discogs has recently revealed that the platform now has over 500 million releases catalogued by its users in an impressive milestone for the world's largest online music database.
The past decade for Discogs has been marked by consistent growth mainly attributed to the Collection feature which allows users to catalog their physical music. The past year following the effects of COVID 19 has also dramatically increased the number of individuals now cataloging their collections by around 40%.
Utilising this data, Discogs has declared that the average listener prefers black vinyl, collects original pressings, organises their collections alphabetically and has a collection to the tune of 2224 pounds. The largest collection also possesses a gigantic 512,279 releases to their name, about 2780 times the typical users collection of 184 releases.
